SOLEL THE COMPANY
Solel Solar Systems Ltd. Is an Israeli corporation founded in
1992 with financing provided by European investors. Based in
Jerusalem, Solel purchased most of the assets of Luz Industries
Ltd.
Solel’s production line is located in Beit Shemesh, and
it operates a test site in Sde Boker.
Solel has developed a unique solar test bench at its plant in
Beit Shemesh. During 1984-90 Luz had built and operated 9 utility-scale
SEGS (Solar Electric Generating Systems) plants in California’s
Mojave Desert, with a combined capacity of 354 MW, which represent
more than 90% of commercial world solar energy capacity.
Solel has become the major supplier of replacement collectors
to the O&M operating company which provides services to
5 of the existing SEGS plants. New is the solar water collector.
Among the technologies that made SEGS plants commercially viable
were the use of sophisticated sputtered thin film deposition
techniques and special anti-reflective coating, applied to the
critical collector’s part. These unique technologies achieved
both higher energy absorptivity and lower emissivity than attained
with conventional coatings, and proved to be long lasting during
11 years of service at the SEGS plant.
The CPC 2000 deliver more energy per square meter than competing
solar collectors.
